Das Wesen der Identität sowohl im Begriff als auch in seinem theoretischen Konstrukt und den praktischen Ausfaltungen findet bislang in die Theorie der Supervision, wie aus der relevanten Supervisionsliteratur ersichtlich, kaum Eingang – Ausnahme, die „Integrative Supervision“ – sodass auch ein mangelnder Transfer wesentlicher theoretischer und praxeologischer Ansätze zu befürchten steht. Dass vor allem die Erkenntnisse moderner Identitätstheorien und die Berücksichtigung der eigenen supervisorischen Identität sowie der Blick auf die Genderthematik für die supervisorische Arbeit sinnstiftend und tatsächlich unabkömmlich sind, will diese Arbeit aufzeigen. Der Einbezug gängiger soziapsychologischer Konzepte soll unter Zurückstellung der philosophischen Sichtweise die wissenschaftliche Herangehensweise fundieren.

Summary: Identity as a Topic of Supervision in Theory and practice
This study deals with the essence of the identity concept in supervision. Modern theories of identity and the identity as such, so important for supervision was found to be deficient or practically non-existing in the relevant supervision literature with exception of the approach of Integrative supervision. Individual interviews inquiring about the quality of theoretical fundamentals and identity in the practice of supervision were made. The outcome has revealed that uncertainties prevail in particular in terms of theoretical fundamentals and supervisory identity; at the same time almost all those interviewed have acknowledged their interest in having improved and specialised theories of identity in supervision devised. In order to substantiate the need for a flexible supervisory theory of identity also in terms of theory a clear-cut synopsis has been compiled focussing on modern theories of identity and socio-psychological concepts. These findings present the current situation of theories of identity  and highlight the shortcomings in theory and practise of supervision.  The demand for transforming scientific knowledge available but disregarded so far into theory and practise in Germany is being reasoned.  Eventually this approach is intended to launch the overdue discussion about theories to define the identity aspect in the routine of supervisors and it is also the issue of supervisory identity which is relevant to the practical work of supervisors.
