Summary: Equine-Assisted Intervention within an Integrative Approach in the Support of a Client with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Depression, and Fibromyalgia
The practice project illustrates impressively how the therapist and the targeted use of the horse within integrative therapy impact the client and sustainably support her identity development. The project centers on a comprehensive anamnesis, careful therapeutic considerations, and a detailed presentation of the treatment process. Particular attention is given to the client’s personality development: through various intervention sequences, her self-awareness is sharpened, and she learns to consciously recognize, respect, and accept her own boundaries. Based on theoretical models, concepts, and methods of Integrative Therapy that guide the specific treatment process, it becomes clear how the client continues to develop through structured, goal-oriented, and holistic planning. The disorder-specific treatment is systematically elaborated, and the entire therapeutic process is subsequently reflected upon in light of the achieved outcomes. The consistent therapeutic structure, the clear goal orientation, and the multifaceted design of the interventions provide a stable framework in which the client can visibly grow. Step by step, she develops deep trust in her own abilities and experiences her self-efficacy across different areas of her life and actions—an ongoing developmental process that strengthens her inner stability and sustainably promotes her personal growth.
