Summary: Gong singing, gong pictures and resonance movement as „sound healing“ – Intermedial processes in Integrative Therapy
Within the framework of „Integrative Therapy“ specific methods of integrative music therapy, poetry therapy, art therapy have been developed and applied together with creative media like colours, music instruments etc. (in an intermedial) approach. The aim of these procedures is the activation of experiencing, the evocation of traumatic material from the unconscious but also the creative moulding and modelling of biographical events and the development of the person’s potentials. The present study reports by means of clinical case material about the effects of therapeutic  gong playing in patients with psychosomatic disorders, anxiety states and critical life events resp. crisis. In resonance mouvements and gongpaintings the· sound events are taken up and are represented in a way that emotional experiences and evoked atmospheres and images are accessible for a working through process. This procedure in psychotherapy and sound healing brings about impressing results in patients what the production of projective material, the working through process and the beneficial influence on the disease and the symptomatology is concerned.
