Die Rolle der Gruppe in der Integrativen Bewegungstherapie

Hilarion G. Petzold, Angelika Berger (1996a/Neueinst.2001)

Summary:  The role of the group in Integrative Exercise Therapy
The role of the group in Integrative Mouvement Therapy (IMT), which can be applied as individual and group therapy, is represented. Three modes of work are differentiated: conflict centered, experience centered and exercise centered; used as indicated. The group is understood as a whole which is more than the sum of the individual participants, the synergy of which is constituting the group as a totality. The themes of the individual participant are therefore the topic of the group and vice versa. The alternation of verbal and nonverbal sequences in the group work are putting the relations of the participants into the open and are using the groups potential as a field for social learning.

Keywords: Role of the group, integrative movement therapy, synergy, verbal and nonverbal sequences, field of social learning.
