Summary: Integrative trauma therapy – models and concepts for the treatment of patients with „post-traumatic stress disorder“
Patients with post-traumatic stress and adjustment disorders who were treated with the general approach of Integrative Therapy in the format of focal therapeutic short-term therapy (Petzold 1993p) are very satisfied with the outcome, the course and the person of the therapists after the therapy. The „general life satisfaction“ has increased, especially in the area of satisfaction with social contacts and the feeling of being alive. The localisation of emotional problems and pain in the body sphere decreased significantly in the pre-post comparison. There was a clear reduction in the stress measured by the SCL-90-R at the end of therapy, with the highest improvement in the „depressiveness“ scale. The post-scores of the SCL-90-R hardly differed from those of a normal population. It can be assumed that integrative therapy in its general form of „focal short-term treatment“ is suitable as a treatment method for post-traumatic stress and adjustment disorders.
