Zusammenfassung: Engagiert für alte Menschen – Hilarion G. Petzold und die Gerontotherapie. 30 Jahre gerontologischer Weiterbildung, Supervision und Forschung in Österreich
Die Arbeit stellt den von Hilarion G. Petzold inaugurierten Begriff und seine Konzepte der „Gerontotherapie“ vor und damit ein Stück Entwicklung moderner Gerontotherapie, die von diesem Pionier der psychotherapeutischen Behandlung alter Menschen als eine integrative „biopsychosoziale“ bzw. sozialökologische Praxis entwickelt wurde. Besonders wird auf seine Entwicklungen der gerontologischen und thanatologischen Weiterbildung für Angehörige helfender, medizinischer und pflegende Berufe in Österreich seit 1977 eingegangen und auf die dabei entstandenen innovativen Modelle. Praxisbeispiel gerontotherapeutischer Arbeit illustrieren die Konzepte.

Summary: Engaged for Old People –Hilarion G. Petzold and Geronto Therapy – 30 Years of Ongoing Education, Supervision, and Research in Austria
This article is presenting the notion and concepts of “geronto therapy” as inaugurated and developed by Hilarion G. Petzold, which in the same time depicts some of the developments of modern geronto therapy, that has been elaborated by this pioneer of psychotherapeutic treatment of the elderly in his integrative “biopsychosocial” approach. Particularly his developments in the training of the helping professions, medical and nursing staff concerning gerontology and thanatology in Austria since 1977 is emphasized leading to innovative models. Practical examples from gerontotherapeutic treatment are illustrating the concepts exposed.
